Compared to rangefinders, though, they are unable to provide a magnified view to assist you see down the course. But one advantage of GPS devices over rangefinders is the ability to function even beyond the sight of your target. The satellite is able to locate you no matter where you are on the hole.

There are several considerations when buying a golf GPS device. Prices usually range from $150 to $500, so think carefully if you feel that the features you will get out of the device is really worth the investment. Cheaper models will show you the numerical distance of your target, as compared to more expensive and high tech models that are able to show you a detailed map and accurate readings for more than one target.
